The Team
Ms. Burrafato:
I have been teaching at Rolesville Elementary for 6 1/2 years now! I graduated from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and my license to teach Kindergarten through Sixth Grade students. I am currently back at Meredith College working on my Master in Education with a focus on Literacy. I love reading, crafting, and baking in my free time. I moved to North Carolina in 2000 and went to school at the Franklin Academy. I love spending time with family and my friends shopping, cooking, crafting, and exploring Raleigh!
Ms. Dodaro:
I’d like to introduce myself. I have been in the education field since 2003. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from U.C. Santa Barbara and a Master of Science in Elementary Education with a Language Arts Specialization from Dowling College. I am originally from Long Island, New York. This is my sixth year at Rolesville Elementary School. I have a terrific 19 year-old son named Kyle who is a sophomore in college and a beautiful Shiba Inu dog, Dmitri, who is 3 and a half. I enjoy teaching, learning, reading, and using technology. My hobbies include spending time with family (including Dmitri) and friends, reading, traveling, walking, being outdoors and learning new things.
Mrs. Owens:
Mrs. Hertzig: I joined the third grade team at Rolesville Elementary a year and a half ago, after teaching 9 1/2 years at Wake Forest Elementary. I love it at RES and I love teaching! I am K-6 certified as well as reading certified K-12. Besides teaching Kindergarten, third, second and fifth grades, I have been an intervention specialist and a math coach. When I'm not teaching, I'm spending time with my fabulous family. I have three children, Isaiah, Isabella and Ilaina. Isaiah just graduated from NC State and the girls are both attending NCSU. We also have two dogs, Harry and Hermione, named for my favorite books (Harry Potter). I am so excited for a great year with a lot of fun and learning!
Mrs. Wiggins:
After graduating from Appalachian State University, I started my career at Rolesville Elementary School. I taught fourth grade here until 2003 when my first son was born. I then spent several years as a Reading and Writing Intervention teacher within the school system. My second son was born in 2006. I returned “home” to Rolesville Elementary in 2008! I have taught third grade since that time. I love spending time with my husband and two busy boys! When I can find free time, I enjoy traveling to the mountains and the beach.
